And over the past year, LinkedIn recorded a [21% increase in U.S. job listings](https://hbr.org/2021/06/you-need-a-skills-based-approach-to-hiring-and-developing-talent#:~:text=Shift%20to%20a%20skills-based,in%202020%20compared%20to%202019.) that focused on skills rather than traditional qualification requirements.  But how can the traditional college degree support this focus on skills over certification?
